The lesson from Obama care for retailers !

Whether you’re pro or con on the Affordable Care Act there’s an obvious lessen to be learned for any retailer planning to replace their current Point of Sale System. The lesson is simple, implementation, implementation, and implementation. No matter how closely you evaluate potential solutions to meet your business needs the one aspect that tends to get overlooked in the process is developing a well thought out implementation plan. Every aspect of the implementation should be detailed with a timeline and tasks assigned to specific people from both the vendor’s team and your internal staff. Every phase of the implementation has to be owned by someone. Scheduling and timelines should be reviewed weekly and revised as needed. The reality is that how well as system is implemented will largely determine the successful utilization of the system.
In my next blog I will provide a detailed check list to follow for a successful system implementation.
